Raised in the southern United States, Joel Vaughn grew up in a somewhat nomadic household living in multiple states across the country over the years. He began to sing in church by the age of 7 and travelled the country from the day he was born. He was born in South Carolina but considers both Alabama and Texas to be where he grew up. Joel picked up the guitar and began to teach himself to play at the age of 14. Soon after, He started writing his own songs at the age of 17. By 2005, He started touring regionally in the southwest United States while pursuing his undergraduate degree at West Texas A&M University. His trajectory as a Christian Artist began to form in those years. In 2013 he stepped away from being a staff worship leader at a church and instead was touring as an independent artist. His music was beginning to garner attention and was being played on national radio stations. He signed his first record deal in 2016 and within a month his very first radio single “Wide Awake” debuted on Billboard Hot AC and peaked at #16. Joel has consistently released hit songs that have charted on the Billboard top 50 Christian Airplay charts and Mediabase charts as well. Throughout his career songs like, I Look To You, Pray It Up, Friend, Already Done, and I Would Be Lost, were all top 50 billboard radio hits. Joel lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Andra and their two childrenOlivia and Levi.
